A Christmas Memory

Just a few days ago, I took time to watch a Christmas movie called “A Christmas Memory.” For me, the movie focused on the importance of family, but there was a deeper theme — It was one of friendship. I haven’t usually thought of my family as friends, but in hindsight I believe some of them were.

The movie forced me to realize that some of my family members have absolutely proven themselves to be my best friends. When I think about the true meaning of friendship, my father, mother, and granny are the ones who immediately come to mind. They were selfless and consistently sought my well-being.

My parents and grandmother were a lot like Jesus who has proven Himself over and over. He says He’s” the friend that sticks closer than a brother”—and that’s true! I’m grateful for my Jesus today, and His unsurpassed friendship.
