During Advent, there are so many unusual things happening in the world, but instead of focusing on those things, it is more important now than ever to focus on the person of Jesus Christ. For those who know Him, it is important to get to know Him better by spending more time in His word and in prayer. For those who don’t know Him but want to know Him, seeing a movie about the life of Christ is a good starting point.

During the Christmas season, I highly recommend that anyone view the Greatest Story Ever Told and the Gospel of John to get you more focused on who Christmas is all about — Christ.

The Gospel of John film is a compelling yet poignant depiction of the Life of Jesus Christ, which is at times narrated. In this true-to-life depiction of John’s gospel, the movie takes the audience on a spiritual and very emotional journey with the Son of Man. On this journey, the miracles that Jesus performs become our miracles as He works in obedience to the Father by turning water to wine, healing the sick and raising Lazarus from the dead. Jesus delivers the good news to the Jewish people and the pharisees with great fervor and anointed zeal, despite the repeated rejection of His message that He is the true son of God. Over and over again, we hear His enlightening message of love and His offer of everlasting life to those who believe in Him.

  1. The wise men said, “Where is He who is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east and have come to worship Him.” This season let us remember to worship the one who was born King!!
